March 2021 Update

We continue to pray for my time management and health as well as my parents’ issues.

A student and his mother ever seem to have health issues preventing him from appropriately tending to his studies.

UPDATE: He and his mother are doing well. Not only is she out of ICU but she’s back home having been discharged.

A colleague’s daughter was married over the weekend. This is a HUGE praise after the family spent lots of time and effort in seeing her find a suitable partner in the faith.

No updates on my father-in-law’s pending litigation. He did get his first vaccination, but the second one has yet to be administered.

We have some paperwork we are working through presently part of it has went through.

UPDATE: Some paperwork has gone smoothly. Still, much remains.

Another colleague needs prayers with a recent job loss. Many do in the wake of the virus’s resurgence regionally. See our news blogs for updates.

A family member has a serious unspoken request.

Two church members had to go to hospital and have recovered. Many sick here with flu like symptoms. Another man in the village had to have surgery here in the Valley and has additionally issues yet to be resolved before he can return to his home and family.

UPDATE: Both are out and doing much better and have almost fully recovered!

A widow in the village has been facing renewed spiritual attacks. She has recently resumed her faith finding life apart from Christ quite difficult after a short relapse into her former ways.

Two other women in the vicinity are facing persecution–one especially from her husband as more of that family are turning to Christ. Despite having no pastor willing to serve them , the believers maintain their faith against much adversity.

UPDATE: The wife has been reconciled to her husband while remaining a believer!

A local pastor has been struggling with all sort so issues. It has caused a pause in one of my weekly online Bible Studies for nearly two full months.

UPDATE: We finally were able to meet today after two months of delays! Nepalis are prone to not being able to do much as life often interferes in one’s plans. They manage time so differently here and place what is most important each day ahead of all other activities. Each day is not about being regular but about making sure what is most important gets accomplished. Plans often get thrown out the window easily to meet the more important things in life. Things get put off until they become important enough to do as all other important things have been completed. This is just a different way of perceiving life as everything is about the relational. They weigh everything based upon relating to what is most important at the time. They do not believe in insurance or planning for tomorrow. They do their best to meet whatever present challenge is before them.
